Anyone been to Movementlectures.com?
This is a great new site that offers talks on performance and rehab, and the growing overlap between the two. There are talks by Gray Cook, Charlie Weingroff, Nick Tuminello, Paul Ingraham, Erwan LeCorre, Dan John, and many other big names.
I am very pleased that they just posted a talk that I submitted. (And I am very humbled to be included with such a knowledgable group.)
My talk is called the Body Maps, which are the neural networks in the brain that represent the body. I discuss what scientists have learned about how the maps grow and change, and what you can do to improve them for the better to reduce pain and increase performance. The talk lasts about 30 minutes and costs $3.95.
Check it out and let me know what you think!
Just downloading it now – I am sure this will be good!
I have already had the luxury to hear this lecture and it was very well done. My review will be up soon. Any person that works in the field of movement needs to have this understanding about body/cortical maps. Thanks Todd for this contribution.
Thanks Stacy and Chris!
I’m excited to check it out. I just had Sandra Blakeslee, who wrote The Body has a Mind of Its Own, to the graduating segment here in Santa Fe, NM. She got on the floor with us then gave a talk with some Q&A time. She, and her book, are encouraging about our work. Thanks Todd, going there now.
Todd, I was so happy to learn the topic of your talk. This is such important information, and people are just getting a hint of it. Thanks again for this great introduction to body maps and proprioception.
I just read/listened Todd – I thought it was a very good, very concise overview of brain function with maps, proprioception being the pivotal feature. Thank you for being so articulate.
Diane
Thanks for saying so Diane, that means a lot coming from you.
