Better Movement of the Week

I've decided to add a new feature to the blog - a (hopefully) weekly showcase of a video of some excellent movement, along with some brief commentary about why I found it inspiring, or interesting, or exemplary of some of the principles I talk about on this blog. To start off, here is a beautiful video of man spear fishing while holding his breath for several minutes deep under the ocean. http://youtu.be/MgRpwESWPLM

I've frequently watched animals in the wild and have been amazed at the fluidity and grace of their movements. I've sometimes despaired that humans were not equally gifted. I thought that perhaps the price of a superior brain was an inferior body. But it's not true. Perhaps it is true for humans living in a modern zoo deprived of proper stimulation and opportunities for creative and playful movement. But given the proper environment, human bodies are capable of beautifully amazing things.
